Rachel Newton wins ‘Instrumentalist Of The Year’

Huge congratulations to the multi-talented Rachel Newton for her Instrumentalist Of The Year win at MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards. A great night was had by all in the glittering Caird Hall in Dundee!

The singer and harpist has won many hearts with her beautiful interpretations of traditional folk songs, in both English and Gaelic, as well as her superb writing and arranging skills. Rachel is available for bookings in 2017: solo in Spring and Autumn; with her trio with fiddler Lauren MacColl and Mattie Foulds in June, as well as some extra special band dates, an expanded line-up with trombonist Michael Owers and flute/whistle player and singer Sarah Hayes in June and at summer festivals.

Congratulations also to ABM na Trads nominees RANT and Tony McManus.
