We are delighted to announce that Dervish are joining the ABM roster. Bringing first class Irish traditional music to the world for more than 25 years, the band have played at festivals from Rio to Glastonbury. Dervish features a line-up of the finest traditional musicians, all steeped in the musical traditions of counties Sligo and Leitrim in north-west Ireland, and fronted by one of the country’s best known singers, Cathy Jordan. Their live performances feature dazzling sets of tunes with stunning interpretations of traditional songs.
Dervish were formed in 1989 when four of the founding members met while playing informal sessions in the pubs of Sligo. Shane Mitchell (accordion), Liam Kelly (flute/whistle), Brian McDonagh (mandola/mandolin) and Michael Holmes (bouzouki) were soon joined by Roscommon born singer and bodhran (drum) player Cathy Jordan, and later, in 1998, by all Ireland Fiddle Champion Tom Morrow. It’s a remarkable and at times electric combination!
***Touring late September 2019. Available for festival bookings during the year.***
