We had a ball at the BBC Radio Two Folk Awards at the Waterfront, Belfast on Wednesday night! Great performances and a great opportunity to recognise the wealth of talent in the contemporary folk scene…but in particular a chance to celebrate the mighty artists on the Alan Bearman Music roster, from grass roots trad to cutting edge new sounds. Big congratulations to the stunning Lankum (who walked away with a clutch of awards for Best Group and Best Original Track for Granite Gaze) and, for their nominations, recent additions to our stable, Ye Vagabonds, nominated for Best Traditional Track for their beautiful version of Lowlands Of Holland, to the brilliant and energetic young duo The Drystones for their Horizon Award nomination. Congratulations also to Martin Simpson and Eliza Carthy. You are all winners!!
